Artist Statement:
I feel like there is so much to react to in culture today. Frankly, it's exhausting to feel like you are constantly in attack mode - feeling like you need to defend who you are or what you believe in.
I wanted to turn this very demeaning statement into something empowering. I wanted to remind women that our source of truth is within us, and that is the foundation and the touchstone that we all need to return to when things get outrageous in culture.
It's hard to make sense today of what is real news and what is fake news, what to pay attention to and what to ignore. But ultimately, following our own values and beliefs will always point us in the right direction.
